Overview

Barber’s Den wanted to stand apart in a category dominated by haircut reveals, service promotions and short-lived social posts.

The goal was to build broader awareness while positioning the company as a distinctive brand where talented barbers would want to work. That required more than a conventional commercial. It required premium storytelling and enough supporting content to keep the campaign active across multiple channels.

Midnight Brunch developed The Coin Series, a cinematic campaign built around three master videos and expanded into a deep library of teasers, social edits, behind-the-scenes reels, animations and specialty footage.

The production was not designed to generate three finished videos. It was designed to make every production element work harder.

The Challenge

Two connected goals

  • Increase awareness in a crowded local market
  • Support recruitment by elevating the perception of its brand and culture

The content needed to feel different from traditional barbershop advertising while remaining flexible enough for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube.

Just as importantly, the campaign needed a sustained flow of social content without requiring a separate shoot for every post.

The Production-Value Strategy

An integrated production system, not a list of deliverables

Midnight Brunch approached the project as an integrated production system rather than a collection of individual deliverables. Three narrative environments formed the creative backbone of the campaign:

  • Poker Scene
  • Hometown Hero Scene
  • Dinner Scene

Each scene received the attention of a standalone production while also serving as a source for additional social assets.

The concepts, performances, locations and visual details were planned to work at multiple levels. They needed to support the complete stories, shorter teasers, alternate aspect ratios, behind-the-scenes content and branded visual moments.

That planning increased the value of each production decision. A scene was not captured for one edit. It was captured with multiple placements and uses in mind.

Three Master Films, Built to Multiply

The three master videos created the campaign’s narrative foundation. From that foundation, Midnight Brunch developed a broad collection of supporting content.

Individual story moments became teasers. Master edits were reformatted for social feeds. Captioned versions supported sound-off viewing. Behind-the-scenes footage opened another window into the production. Coin animations and slow-motion sequences created additional branded touchpoints.

This approach allowed Barber’s Den to draw substantially more content from the same creative world, cast and production effort. Instead of spending the budget on isolated assets, the project concentrated production resources into a unified campaign that could be divided, reformatted and extended across channels.

Platform-Ready Post-Production

The campaign was prepared for distribution across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube.

Rather than relying on a single widescreen master for every placement, Midnight Brunch created distinct 1:1 and 4:5 versions of each principal film. Captioned versions provided additional flexibility for social environments where audiences may watch without sound. The post-production workflow included:

  • Multiple aspect ratios
  • Captioned and non-captioned versions
  • Short-form narrative teasers
  • Instagram-specific edits
  • Behind-the-scenes reels
  • Branded animation
  • Slow-motion social footage
  • Graphics and visual treatments

This made the content easier for Barber’s Den and its digital media partner to deploy without repeatedly returning to post-production for basic adaptations.

A Social Plan Designed Around Content Depth

The social strategy was built to give Barber’s Den different levels of content for different moments.

Build anticipation

Short teasers introduced characters, situations and the recurring Coin motif without revealing the complete stories.

Deliver the campaign

The master films provided the central narrative experiences and established the campaign’s visual standard.

Sustain visibility

Instagram versions, social adaptations, BTS reels, animations and slow-motion content created additional opportunities to maintain activity around the campaign.

Extend the message

The campaign’s elevated look and story-led approach served both objectives. It promoted Barber’s Den to prospective customers while presenting a more compelling image of the company to potential recruits.

Production Value Beyond the Screen

The project’s production value came from more than its cinematic appearance. It came from the amount of usable material created around one connected idea.

The resulting campaign included three master films and 33 supporting adaptations and social assets. That breadth gave Barber’s Den significantly more flexibility than three standalone videos would have provided.

The Coin Series · Client response

“These videos stand out and are next level. The storyline is extremely clever and the video quality is amazing.”

Evan Georgopoulos, Owner, Barber’s Den

Client Response

Following delivery, Barber’s Den owner Evan Georgopoulos said the work “set us apart from any other barbershop.”

The feedback reflects the two production priorities at the center of the campaign: creative differentiation and a visibly elevated level of execution.

The Result

The Coin Series gave Barber’s Den more than three polished films. It created a coordinated library of 36 finished assets built from a single campaign vision:

  • 3 master videos
  • 14 teasers
  • 12 platform-specific adaptations
  • 2 BTS reels
  • 5 branded social assets

The campaign demonstrated how early creative planning and disciplined production can multiply the value of a shoot. Every scene, format and supporting asset contributed to a larger content system designed for awareness, recruitment and ongoing social use.
